Vuelta a Espana and Tour of Britain 2017

Vuelta a Espana and Tour of Britain 2017

After an exciting Tour de France the Vuelta a Espana is now providing more great racing action.  Chris Froome is wearing the red jersey and extended his lead to 1 minute 19 seconds on stage 11 as the race passed the half way point. That strong lead means he’s on target to become only the third person to win the Tour-Vuelta double in the same year (and the first since 1978). Vicenzo Nibali remains the closest chaser.

You can catch the racing live on British Eurosport and there’s a nightly highlights show on ITV4 with the great combination of Ned Boulting and David Millar doing commentary.

This Sunday (3 Sept) sees the start of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain. For the first time ITV4 are showing the race live every day as well as having a 10pm highlights show. Team Sky are fielding a strong team led by Geraint Thomas. It’s his first British Tour since 2011 and his first race since crashing out on Stage 11 of the Tour de France.  Given his strength there he’s got to be a contender and with the race finishing in Cardiff and fellow Welshman Owain Doull on his team it would be a great homecoming.

Team Sky are riding Pinarello of course, and we usually have good stock of F8 framesets at RCE’s great value pricing - £800 off RRP.
