One of the great things about cycling as a sport is that as an amateur you can ride the same kit as the pro's. It can be expensive but RCE can make it a lot more affordable.
First up is Factor. This year they're providing bikes to AG2R who, with Roman Bardet, have been putting in strong showing again in 2017.
The Factor O2 is a superlight but versatile all rounder. It loses the split down tube but still has tube profiling ruthlessly engineered to reduce drag. The “Svelte” fork fitted has the smallest frontal area of any fork on a Grand Tour bike but still has space for up to 28mm tyres for long distance comfort
The Factor One is an aero race bike with a unique ‘Twin-Vane’ down tube to help funnel wash from the front wheel through the frame rather than around. Factor claim this delivers 100g of aerodynamic efficiency at 40km/h - equating to about 1 second per km. It looks amazing as well.
We’ve got a small number of frames with Factor’s own integrated aero stem/bar and more of the standard stem version.
